What we offer

Primarily, we would like to offer our clients a visit to a pleasant andclean setting, so that they feel comfortable and their animals experience minimal stress. We have indeed placed high emphasis on the practical design of the construction and equipment of the clinic’s interior. When in the waiting room, you can enjoy the music, take a look at the aquarium or read various magazines.

To spend as little time waiting as possible, you can call to make an appointment in advance. Complex and extended diagnostic procedures (such as X-rays, ultrasound, biopsy, and others), surgery, or check-ups of patients requiring individual care (such as IVs or major wound bandaging) should always be requested in advance. In addition, in case of an emergency, we can work in two offices at the same time.

We try to provide comprehensive care for small animals, and we welcome owners of small mammals, terrarium animals, and exotic birds. We use both new, up-to-date methods and time-tested procedures, according to the wish and, when possible, the solvency of our clients. Whenever possible, you can choose from various types of products, anesthetic methods, or surgical methods. We provide daily hospitalization in hospitalization boxes.

Thanks to our high-quality appliances and laboratory equipment, we are able to perform many examinations (including those that are more demanding) and procedures directly at the clinic. If something important is unavailable or if we know that a procedure could be performed better at another clinic, we will, of course, recommend you to this leading facility. We are referring doctors of the Jaggy clinic, and we cooperate with the Veterinary and Pharmaceutical University, MVDr. Snášil Milan Csc., a specialist in surgery and orthopedy, and MVDr. Tukač, a specialist in the field of exotic bird disorders. All these facilities are located in Brno, and represent the very best of veterinary medicine in our country.

Preventive medicine: vaccination, de-worming, examinations before travel or shows, ultrasound tartar removal, advice for breeders, tagging of animals (under the auspices of the City of Prague) and tattooing.

Dermatology: diagnostics and treatment of a wide spectrum of skin problems, hormonal dermatoses, parasitoses, skin inflammations, allergies, skin tumors. Microscopic exams, cultivation of yeasts and moulds, and cytology. Skin allergy tests. We can arrange a skin biopsy.

Internal medicine: urology, cardiology, endocrinology, and blood transfusions. 
Oncology: diagnostics and therapy of tumors, preventive consultancy. Cytologic diagnostics using the thin-needle method, or histopathological analysis, cytology of blood smears. We have the capacity for surgery and chemotherapy for several types of tumors. Alternative methods are available subject to agreement with the owner of the animal. Gynecology and obstetrics: determination of the optimal time for mating, vaginal cytology, determination of progesterone. Assisted mating, artificial insemination, basic analysis of the semen. Diagnosis of the pregnancy using ultrasound, interruption of pregnancy (different methods). Assisted delivery, spontaneous or Cesarean section (also available with epidural anesthesia!). Gynecological procedures, spaying, vulva and vaginal procedures (tumors, mucosal hyperplasia, developmental defects).

Orthopedics: diagnosis of acute and chronic limping; X-rays, surgical solutions, dysplasia of elbows or hips; we prepare conservative treatment programs, especially for animals with arthritic joints. Management of dislocation (luxation) of the patella, different methods. Removal of OCD lesions (free parts of the cartilage) from the joints, elbow, shoulder, knee, tarsus. Conservative (fixation using dressings with splints, or cast dressings) and surgical treatment of fractures, pinning, discs with bolts, external fixation. Treatment of dislocated joints, bleeding-free methods including bandages and orthopedic procedures. Treatment of torn ligaments, plastic surgery, synthetic replacements, arthrodesis of joints. Amputation of digits, extremities. Orthopedic consultations, consultations on X-rays. We are able to cooperate with leading facilities in the Czech Republic in the event of severe and complicated injuries or procedures.

Surgery: Surgery to manage many situations. Treatment of wounds, skin problems (tumors, chronic inflammation, granulomas, and more). Interventions in the abdominal cavity (foreign bodies, torsion and flatulence of the stomach, hernia) and in the head. Certain stomatosurgical procedures. Correction of some cosmetic defects. Neutering. Both local and epidural anesthesia are available.

Neurology: diagnosis and treatment of cramps and seizures (epilepsy), management of intervertebral disc hernia (both conservative and surgical treatment is available), contrast examination of the spinal cord, examination and collection of the cerebrospinal fluid. Diagnosis of Wobler syndrome and Caudae equinae syndrome. We arrange CT scans. Proposal for rehabilitation for animals suffering from palsy of the peripheral nerves.

Reptile diseases: blood sample collections and interpretation of results, parasitological examinations, expert consultancy, hospitalization, identification of gender and pregnancy, anesthesia, surgery/release of retained eggs, plastic surgery of the carapace in turtles, fractures of extremities in lizards, removal of neoplasms, metabolic disorders.

Imaging methods: X-rays, simple and special contrast examinations (for more details see the article titled "X-rays in a nutshell"). Sonography, ultrasound examination of the abdominal cavity, stools and sexual organs, liver, prostate, imaging of the fluids in the abdomen, pregnancy. Collections of samples of fluids or cells under visual control using ultrasound. We can arrange CT scans based on clinical indications.

Laboratory exams: exams of urine, density, sediment, pH testing paper. Cytology, samples of tumors, skin prints, smears, and more (for other services and possibilities, see the paragraph titled "Small animal oncology"), collection and examination of the cerebrospinal fluid, basic parasitological examination of stools. We arrange hematological and biochemical examination of the blood in cooperation with laboratories for human medicine. We offer exams in Plzeň Veterinary laboratories, hormonal tests, serology, special examination of stools, urine cultivation, bacteriological smears, and more. Histopathological examination of tissue samples, autopsy.

Nutrition: guidance pertaining to the nutrition of dogs and cats, (especially large and giant breeds), the issue of nutrition during growth, clinical diets for various diseases (kidneys, liver, pancreas, diarrhea, urolithiasis, and more), treatment of skin symptoms due to allergies, management of obesity, nutrition of oncology patients.
